SMS text vs published filtering factors for growth teams
Methodology: filtering patterns · optional AI · human review
Paste your text message before you send it. Get a scored pre-check report — carrier-filter vocabulary, segment and encoding costs, opt-out and consent text elements, risky claims, and sender-context advisories — based on the wireless-texting rules and opt-out codes carriers and industry bodies publish. A heads-up, not a delivery guarantee.
1. What the engine owns
Severity-ranked findings from pasted SMS text against word lists and patterns derived from the filtering guidance carriers and industry bodies publish, the text elements of the US wireless-texting rules (carrier-filter vocabulary, format and structure signals, opt-out and help-path gaps, rate-disclosure and brand-lead-in gaps, quantified promises) and the GSM encoding specification behind billed-segment math (160/153 per GSM-7 segment, 70/67 per UCS-2). The rule snapshot is dated by the engine version — it is not synced with carrier or registry pages in real time. Demo is labelled Rule-based — never silent mock.
2. What optional AI may do
Explain or polish findings when a key is configured. Upstream failure returns 502. No invented findings, no quotes from text you did not paste.
3. What you must do
- Review findings against your carrier and aggregator guidance and your own consent records before sending.
- Apply fixes in your own tooling — SmsPrecheck does not connect to CPaaS accounts or carrier registries and never sends anything.
- Treat output as decision-support, not a delivery or compliance guarantee.
4. What we deliberately do not do
- Registry or sender-status measurement — A2P 10DLC brand/campaign registration appears only as a labelled ADVISORY, never as a lookup result. No number validation either.
- Sending, list cleaning, suppression management, or continuous monitoring.
- Replication of any carrier’s internal filter model, or delivery-probability numbers — nobody outside the filter can compute what it will decide.
- Legal review — the TCPA/MMA checks read expected text elements, not your full campaign obligations; regulated sends need a qualified professional.
